Figures

Sculpting figures has allowed me to reach a different audience. Making bodies from clay was something I intentionally avoided for many years. Representational body forms were mostly not interesting to me.

When prompted to make clay work with a message, my thoughts were of body. Lately too many things make me think of gender and body and body identification. Female bodies and our rights to control our bodies for some reason is always up for debate and scrutiny. I am a strong proponent for sterilization, the taking back of our bodies, and support women’s universal refusal to procreate.
