New Studio
Yesterday I completed two large sections of my first sculpture to be made in my new studio.
The pieces I’m working on are part of the ArtsWorcester Material Grant Exhibition. As a recipient of the grant, I’ll be showing my work in a Fall 2022 exhibition along with the other winners. My focus for this series is extruded sculptural forms. My new/used extruder was equipped with new hollow dies- squares + hexagons. My sculptures are assembled by extruding a bag of clay, usually a couple different dies at time, then sitting with them, cutting them up, and joining them in random vertical compositions.
